Description
The Huet family began their winemaking career in 1928 but it was with the figurehead of Gastón Huet that some of the best white wines in the world began to be produced. Upon his death in 2002, his son-in-law Noël Pinguet, with the help of New York businessman Anthony Hwang, continue the legacy, and under the instruction of winemaker Jean-Bernard Berthomé continue to produce transparent, pure and balanced wines with the star variety of the Loire Valley: Chenin Blanc.
Domaine Huet Vouvray Le Haut-Lieu Demi-Sec comes from Le Haut-Lieu, an area of more than 9 hectares of deep limestone and brown clay soil. It’s a magnificent terroir where the Chenin blanc variety grows under biodynamic precepts. When the grape reaches optimum ripeness, it’s manually selected and harvested in the vineyard itself.
In the winery, the grapes from Domaine Huet Vouvray Le Haut-Lieu Demi-Sec are gently pressed, and the must obtained ferments spontaneously with native yeasts. The wine is then aged in oak barrels for 12 to 18 months.
Being one of the most famous demi-sec in the Loire, Domaine Huet Vouvray Le Haut-Lieu Demi-Sec is love at first sight. All the best of the Chenin variety concentrated in a bottle.
