A wonderful red wine from Bierzo, in the northwest of Spain. Made from 100% Mencia sourced from 80-year-old vines. Raul Perez, who now runs the winery, is a figurehead for Bierzo wines in Spain, renowned for making some of the best wines in the world and considered a bit of superstar in Spanish winemaking circles. Deep purple in colour with a nose of raspberries, cherries, mineral and floral notes. Medium-full in body with a soft palate, the wine offers complex flavors of red berries, cherries and spice. It was aged for just over a year in French oak barriques. The wine has a smooth, lengthy finish.

A blend of local varieties this is a medium bodied red with a savory edge. Fresh and vibrant with lovely red currant and cherry fruits. Could be served chilled.
