From MWs (Master of Wine) Sam Harrop & Andreas Kubach –  Vinos De Montana embodies an obscured, nearly forgotten, portrait of winemaking, being sourced from old vines along the mountain ranges of Sierra De Gredos & Sierra De Gata. This is a sustainably made bottling that blends Garnacha w/ the much more eclectic varietals of Pinuela (adding weight & texture) & Rufete (adding aromatic rusticity). Vinos De Montana is one of those wines that perfectly encapsulates the intensity of arid, hotter climate terrior (think dusty, dried, roasted flavors), but still w/ the perfect amount of precision & poise to its flavors. Although robust in flavor, its quite well-mannered on the palate, so while anything grilled & charred should pair wondurfully, avoid copious, ricj sauces that can overwhelm its surprising delicacy.
