One of the flagship reds of the estate made from some of the older vines on the estate. The blend is Touriga Nacional, Alicante Bouschet, Aragonez and Iinta Muida and is aged for 7 months in new French oak. There is always a decent amount of bottle ageing before release which leads to complex and mellow flavours. Red and dark fruits are complemented by sanguine and meaty notes with leather and spices. Complex, refined and mellow.

Description
The Herdade Moinho Branco estate is based in Vidigueira in the heart of the Baixo Alentejo (lower Alentejo). Due to the modersting cool wind coming from the Serra do Mendro 60% of the estates 80hA are planted with white grapes. Although there is plenty of structure and fruit in the reds they always stay fresh and balanced. In the main the estate concentrates on indigenous varieties with Antao Vaz, Arinto and Siria to the fore for whites and Aragonez, Touriga Nacional, Alfrocheiro and the estate’s specialty Alicante Bouschet for reds. Owners Mario Pinheiro and Nuno Bico bring plenty of know how and enthusiasm to the project. All processes in the vineyard and winery have a keen eye on being enviromentally friendly with no pesticides and strict limited use of resources. All the wines are fantastic value at their respective price points. Highly regarded winemaker Paulo Laureono consults and the wine is made under the Ribafreixo brand.
