In 1998, the Soares family, João, Paulo, Rita, João and Maria Antónia, together, went in search of a dream. And a passion. A dream of space and time. A passion for nature and the products we take from it. Respecting her. They put their hands on the earth. They felt the ground. They gave new life to Herdade da Malhadinha Nova, located in Albernoa, in the heart of Baixo Alentejo. Motivated by dream and passion, they transformed that immense space frozen in time into a showcase for the production of high quality genuinely Alentejo products.The wine was combined with the breeding of native breed animals in total harmony with Nature and a strict protection regime with a protected designation of origin (DOP). Recovered and reborn from existing ruins, different types of accommodation appear scattered in various corners of this immense land. Time, nature, genuineness and authenticity serve as a common denominator. Integrated in perfect harmony with the bucolic landscape, by contrast, inside, we stumble upon the modernity and uniqueness of the decoration.
