Les Allées de Cantemerle is the second wine of this historic Bordeaux estate. A blend of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon and 40% Merlot, it pours a magnificent ruby with a kiss of garnet. On the nose, gorgeous aromas of red currant, pomegranate and cranberry effortlessly drift from the glass. Underlying the fruit are subtle notes of roses and toast. The first sip is beautiful, showcasing a definite "WOW" factor, where you instantly realize that the wine is simply delicious. Essence of Amarena cherries dominate the palate with a slight peppery note and graphite minerality. The tannins are extremely well-integrated and the acidity is broad and round, giving a soft and pleasurable mouthfeel that can be enjoyed almost without moderation. This is classic Bordeaux, absolutely stunning! An ideal wine for holiday meals or entertaining, however it screams for roast beef served with Yorkshire pudding and scalloped potatoes!
