  • 2016 Louis Jadot Gevrey-Chambertin, Cote de Nuits
    New
    Burgundy, France
    Pinot Noir
From the tip of Chablis to the toe of Beaujolais, from regional, village, 1er Cru and Grand Cru wines Louis Jadot produces only Burgundy. The Jadot label has become the reliable stamp of quality and consistency from what can often be a confusing region. Louis Henry Denis Jadot founded the business in 1859. His vision was to build a business with a high quality reputation and a significant vineyard base. This vision remains core to the business today. Over time, prestigious acquisitions have included Chambertin Clos de Bèze, Musigny and Gevrey Chambertin Clos St Jacques. Plus the picturesque Santenay Clos de Malte and Premier Cru sites in Puligny Montrachet, Savigny Les Beaune and Corton Grand Cru to name but a few. Today the business is headed up by Pierre Henry Gagey, following following the tragic death of Louis Auguste Jadot. Pierre Henry is a passionate believer in terroir, allowing the wines to present the very essence of Burgundy.

  • Chateau de Puligny-Montrachet, Puligny Montrachet 2016
    Burgundy, France
    100% Chardonnay

From the winery: "Our Puligny-Montrachet is rather unique because three-quarters of the bottling comes from a 1.1 hectares parcel situated in the Puligny Premier Cru "Les Chalumeaux" that was declassified by INAO when it was replanted in 1975 because the former owner brought in 20 centimeters of topsoil from elsewhere.

This is the only Puligny-Montrachet village vineyard to sit mid-slope, amidst the Premier Crus. The two other parcels that complete this wine are located in "Levron" and "Baudrières-Nosroy" and compose another 0.38 hectare.

Our wines are known for their great aromatic purity. We always favor balance and elegance over power and extraction. The wines are classic expressions of Burgundy, of their appellations in general and of their specific terroirs in particular. The farming methods we use contribute to this individual style, and our winemaking methods aim to avoid excessive outside influences in order to bring out the equilibrium that can be found naturally in Burgundian terroir.

"A markedly floral-suffused nose expresses additional notes of honeysuckle, citrus and sandalwood. There is a much finer and more mineral-driven palate impression to the vibrant medium weight flavours that culminate in a balanced, refined and lingering finish. The high proportion of 1er juice is quite evident."

  • Droin Chablis 1er Cru Montée de Tonnerre
    Burgundy, France
    100%Chardonnay
Located right in the heart of the Chablis region, the French wine estate of Domaine Jean-Paul and Benoit Droin has been in the business of making wines for over 4 centuries now. The estate owns 26 hectares of vineyards that are spread across some of the best appellations to make Chablis, Petit Chablis, Premium Cru (9), and Grand Cru (5) wines. Currently, this estate is managed by the 13th generation of the family that founded this label. Every single bottle of wine produced here has ultimate respect to the pure terroirs of the Chablis region. The region is unique because it has many types of soils and almost 16 different climatic conditions. These conditions have a great and positive influence on the wines crafted here. Its aromatic profile, fine and complete, tends to minerality and white fruits. Also to be found are hints of white flowers, anise and menthol, brioche, and sweet spices. On the palate, its lengthy vivacity is prolonged by its saline aspect. Never aggressive, it expresses itself through the oyster shell as well as with notes of flint. After 5 to 7 years, its aromatic persistence is enhanced, thereby offering all its power, still balanced by straight-line minerality. It is after 15 years that it acquires incomparable complexity. It is the great lord of the Premier Crus. It will be perfect with grilled lobster.

  • Hospices de Beaune 1er Cru, Cuvee Maurice Drouhin
    Burgundy, France
    100% Pinot Noir
Maurice Drouhin was for many years Administrator of the Hospices de Beaune and was then Vice-President of its administrative Commission from 1941 to 1955. At the same time, he ran the Beaune négociant-éleveur Joseph Drouhin. His generous donation of top vineyards constitutes one of the largest Cuvées of Beaune 1er Cru in the Domaine des Hospices (covering 2.69 ha.). 40% of the land lies in Les Avaux, 25% each being Champs Pimonts and Boucherottes, the balance Les Grèves. Bright cherry-red color. A good level of concentration both on the nose and in the palate. A well-balanced wine, sometimes discreet but with a real charm.

  • 2017 Le Grappin Les Grèves, Beaune 1er Cru Blanc
    Burgundy, France
    100% Chardonnay
From the only parcel of Chardonnay mid-slope in Beaune’s most famous climat, and adjacent to Bouchard Père et Fils’s monopole “Les Vignes d’Enfant Jesus”, these 50-year-old vines face south on a perfect incline for sunlight interception and drainage. Less than 1% of “Les Grèves” is planted to Chardonnay, and there are only five producers left who make a white “Les Grèves” Guava, pineapple, and other tropical fruits dominate the complex and powerful nose. Lush and creamy in the mouth it broadens and lengthens. Truly a singular terroir-driven wine – grand cru weight if not finesse. Muscular, broad, and long. Classic Beaune Grèves Blanc.

    100% Chardonnay
Produced from Chardonnay grapes grown organically in the Premier Cru En Virondot vineyard, in Chassagne Montrachet. In the winery, the wines of the Domaine Marc Morey are vinified in the traditional way, by carrying out alcoholic and malolactic fermentation in a Burgundian piece, the wooden elevating lasts from 10 to 18 months depending on the year in which the bottling follows. Before bottling, the wines rest in steel for one to three months. There is good vivacity and balance of aromas and definitely minerality and freshness. • 2017 Puligny Montrachet Monthelie1er Cru Duresses
    Burgundy, France
    100% Chardonnay
We compare "Duresses" with the name Daraises which, in the Mâconnais, is still given to the sides of carts. It comes from the Gallic Doratia “mobile grazing barrier, fence gate”. One can wonder if, in the bottom of the mountain of Bourdon, there had not been enclosures for cattle surrounded by wooden barriers, which would have given their name to these climates and places known as. This young vine of 0.27 ha rests on a loamy clay-limestone soil on the middle of the hillside and lends itself perfectly to the establishment of Chardonnay with plants selected by us. The maturity is early, the wine supple and without aggressiveness. It is balanced, mineral, and does not lack a good length. Aging potential of 3 to 5 years.

  • 2017 Bachelet Puligny-Montrachet Les Aubues

    100% Chardonnay
This is a brilliantly situated lieu-dit in Puligny, lying just below the road which runs along the bottom of the Grands Crus, and right on the border with Chassagne. Despite that, it is very Puligny in style: tense, fresh and really mineral. Drink 2022-2028.

  • 1961 Bouchard Lavieres Savigny Les Beaune 1er Cru
    Burgundy, France
    100% Pinot Noir
Since its foundations in 1731, Bouchard Père et Fils has put together an exceptional vineyard holding along the Côte d’Or. The fact that the firm owns land in some of the most prestigious of Burgundy’s terroirs, makes its objectives an obligation: constant progress towards perfection. A ‘great wine’ demands time and utmost care at every step in its production. This is why the firm calls upon the most suitable equipment (such as the new winery, inaugurated in 2005) and a team that shares the highest standards in terms of craftsmanship and creativity. The name of this " climat " with rocky sub-soil comes from the great number of big flat stones called " laves " in the area. These natural stone slabs were used by the Merovingians for their tombs. One of these can be seen in the Louis XI room in the Château in Beaune. Bouchard Père & Fils owns 3.94 hectares of Savigny Premier Cru acquired at the beginning of the 20th century

  • 1962 Domaine Henri Boillot Volnay Cote de Beaune
    Burgundy, France
    100% Pinot Noir
Domaine Henri Boillot, in Volnay, has become, amongst others, a specialty of Puligny-Montrachet. For several generations (since 1885 precisely), in the southern part of the Côte de Beaune, this discreet but renowned 15-hectare domaine, well known by connoisseurs, has vinified and matured a remarkable palette of prestigious wines on the largest terroirs. Its classy, vigorous and masterfully harmonious grand crus of the Côte de Beaune have particularly established its reputation. Seven hectares of white wine is distributed among the Puligny-Montrachet Premier Cru (Les Perrières, Les Pucelles, Clos de La Mouchère), Meursault Premier Cru Les Genevrières and Savigny-les-Beaune Premier Cru Les Vergelesses. Today, it is the son Henri who has taken over the reins of the family vineyard, and in 1996 he added a trading business, exclusively for whites, and in which each premier cru or grand cru is produced by a single supplier in order to preserve the authenticity of the terroir. The whites, generally early, improve superbly over four to five years. This is thanks to the rigorous and constant ploughing of the vines in a sustainable manner (8 to 10 times a year), as well as the fact that no herbicides are used, yields are limited (40hl / ha on average) and harvesting is manual and conducted as late as possible. Note that in 2005 the domaine unified its name when Henri Boillot bought out Jean Boillot.
