"The wine is smooth and creamy, its acidity just pointing up the ripe apple and pineapple fruit flavors. It does have a crisp citrus edge that just freshens the aftertaste. This is a wood-aged wine, the toast giving a light spice and nutmeg character. Drink this attractive wine now."- ROGER VOSS

Description
This wine has an ancient history that dates back at least as far as the Duke of Wellington's relationship with Portugal and its wines. In recent years, its production was managed by the Companhia das Quintas that was set up to run multiple wineries during the Salazar era. This winery has shown us what considerable quality is available from Portugal's white wines. Using this indigenous grape variety, Arinto, they produce three distinct styles: this crisp and fresh unoaked wine; a Reserva that is from riper grapes, and a further Reserva that is Barrel-aged, fermented and performs like fine Burgundy. The wine is smooth and creamy, its acidity just pointing up the ripe apple and pineapple fruit flavors. It does have a crisp citrus edge that just freshens the aftertaste. This is a wood-aged wine, the toast giving a light spice and nutmeg character. Drink this attractive wine now.Details
