  • 2012 Domenico Clerico Barolo, Piedmont
    Piedmont, Italy
    Nebbiolo
An amazingly consistent Barolo that delivers a lot of power, complexity and enjoyment. Made from 40-45-year-old Nebbiolo vines the post-fermentation ageing process takes place in barriques and 50hl large oak barrels before further ageing in bottle. The wine shows an amazingly complex array of aromatics ranging from red and black fruit to savoury leather – smoky tobacco to spicy notes. This is Nebbiolo showing its powerful personality in a full-bodied, complex and age-worthy wine. Best after a decant.

  • Ottavio Rube Organic Red Italy
    Piedmont, Italy
    Barbera, Dolcetto
‘Ottavio Rubé Rosso’ is a delicious, smile-inducing Barbera and Dolcetto blend. It is named for Ottavio Rubé himself, one of the coop’s founders, whose twinkly-eyed, white-bearded countenance belies a deeply philosophical and idealistic character. Bright fresh fruit nose, red cherry, light-to-medium bodied. Nice grip and savoury flavours on a palate structured by acidity." Le Caveau

  • Trediberri, Barolo
    Piedmont, Italy
    Nebbiolo
A very elegant wine. On the nose, menthol aromas lie alongside earthy tones and black cherry. Medium in body with lots of red fruit and berries on the palate. Mice minerality.

  • Ovello Riserva 2014 - Barbaresco
    Piedmont, Italy
    Nebbiolo
"Always one of my favorite wines from Produttori del Barbaresco, the 2014 Barbaresco Riserva Ovello lays out a broad and soft mouthfeel, with tannins that have already been polished and integrated thanks to ample time in the bottle already. It's safe to say that this Ovello cru loyally demonstrates the level of richness and textural softness that this site is known for. The bouquet is redolent of bright berry fruit with cherry, blackberry and plum. Also, the 2014 vintage was a warm one at the end of the growing season, and you taste a little bit of that ripeness here too". Wine Advocate-Parker

  • Trediberri Langhe Nebbiolo
    Piedmont, Italy
    Nebbiolo
Vinification of grapes mostly coming from La Morra and Levice and a small part from Vicoforte and Monticello d’Alba (Roero) too. Alcoholic fermentation happens mostly in concrete and lasts around 10-12 days. Then malolactic takes place in concrete and/or stainless steel and cold stabilization happens outdoor or in conditioned steel tanks. After stabilization, the wine ages for some months in concrete, steel and plastic, before being bottled, usually in April-May of the year after the harvest This unoaked, fruity and drinkable nebbiolo is meant to be an easy (yet not trivial) wine to share with friends during a nice chat. Drink it slightly cold.

  • Produttori del Barbaresco Italian Red
    Piedmont, Italy
    100% Nebbiolo
This is Produttori del Barbaresco’s flagship wine, a Nebbiolo produced with fruit selected from their 54 growers, who collectively farm some 250 acres of vines, and it is a stunner. Enticing aromas of violet, woodland berry, loose vineyard soil, wild mint and a hint of spearmint shape the intensely fragrant nose. The tense, young palate is still nervous but already boasts finesse, showing wild raspberry, crunchy red cherry, white pepper and star anise. Firm, refined tannins and racy acidity give it a linear, almost austere elegance, while bright acidity keeps it focused and balanced. Drink 2026–2036. The 2017 Barbaresco shows just how appealing this vintage can be. In 2017, the warm, dry growing season gave the Barbaresco an extra kick of richness that fills out its frame and adds so much immediacy. Sweet red berry fruit, cinnamon, rose petal and mint are open in the glass, but it is the wine’s seductive radiance that wins the day. Pora, Ovello, Montestefano, Muncagota and Rio Sordo are the main vineyards used for the straight Barbaresco. The 2017 is such an inviting and expressive wine. Don’t miss it! 2020-2032 Score: 94 Antonio Galloni, vinous.com, October 2020 Mid-pale ruby colour in the glass. The nose is fragrant and intense with strawberries, redcurrants and a little fresh tobacco. The palate is pithy and really fine - the tannins are remarkably soft for such a young Nebbiolo, allowing the fruit to shine through a velveteen texture. They are still plentiful and add bite on the back end, bringing the savoury dried flowers and a hint of leather. There is such lift and vibrancy despite the rounder fruit - really harmonious and elegant. Bursting with character through to a long finish, this is a superb wine from Produttori del Barbaresco. The added roundness means you can drink this wine now, but there is no doubting its potential over the next ten years. A real bargain for such fine quality. Score: 17+ Farr Vintners, Farr Tasting, November 2020 Barbaresco. Tasted blind. Just mid ruby with orange tinges. Lifted sour-cherry and raspberry nose. Elegant raspberry fruit palate which has a medium-weight feel to it and coating tannins. Long and still youthful. Promising. Drink between 2020-2030 Score: 17+ Walter Speller, JancisRobinson.com, July 2020

  • Cordero di Montezemolo Monfalletto, Barolo DOCG
    Piedmont, Italy
    100% Nebbiolo
The historic wine of the winery comes from the carefully selected blend of the Monfalletto Estate vineyards in the town of La Morra. The age of the vines are between 15 to 50 years, all with South/East and South/West exposures giving the perfect grapes and harmonious ripeness. The clayey and calcareous soils add elegance and complexity. Magnesium oxide and manganese in the soil facilitate the maturation of soft and dense tannins. Altitude between 250 and 300 meters above sea level. Each vineyard with uniform characteristics (exposure, age, soil composition, plant gender, clones, etc.) is harvested and vinified separately. 4 – 5 day maceration and another 10-12 to complete fermentation in stainless steel tanks. Drawn off into different sizes and types of wood barrels where malolactic fermentation takes place. All the various lots undergo a period of aging in different types of French and Slovenian wood for a period between 18 to 24 months. The final assemblage of the chosen lots, bottled and released on the market after one year. Intense garnet in color, the nose shows floral and spicy notes perfectly blended: tobacco, cherries, cocoa, and fresh raspberry highlights. The palate is rich, full-bodied, and elegant.

  • 2015 Elvio Cogno Ravera Barolo
    Piedmont, Italy
    100% Nebbiolo
The Ravera cru is undoubtedly one of the most renowned cru in the Barolo area, but also considered one of the most important in the world. It is extremely affected by the altitude, climate and soil. Barolo Ravera is produced with grapes from the historical cru in Novello, a guarantee of fine aromas, sapid flavor and great complexity. The mainly calcareous soil of this old vineyard adds elegance and structure to the wine, making it ideal for ageing. Only a few great wines possess its capacity to develop successfully in the course of time. Austere and severe in its early years, Barolo Ravera loses none of its typicality with the passing of the years; on the contrary, it improves all the time. Careful selection in the vineyard and relatively long fermentation help to heighten the grapes characteristics, which express themselves to the full after ageing in the bottle.
