Description

Bodegas Ponce is a small family-run bodega heads up by Juan Antonio Ponce. The family began bottling their own wines in 2005, after generations of traditional grape-growing that continues today. All Ponce’s grapes are old vine Bobal, averaging 50, but up to 85 yrs old, and are planted at an altitude of 700 meters and higher. Only traditional methods are used in the winery with the adoption of biodynamic techniques. At Bodegas Ponce, the grapes are vinified separately and each wine is made with grapes from a certain plot, each representing a different terroir, with its own personality. Reto has a lovely expression of lemon, pineapple, and lychee, with hints of passion fruit in the background. Lively, fruity, and elegant attack, with notes of tropical fruits, perfectly balanced by citrus and a lovely acidity in the finish.
