Now under the banner of the famed Moueix dynasty, Plince is one of the larger estates in Pomerol. With Merlot as the dominant grape variety, this vintage offers a rich combination of black cherries with a burst of chocolate and tobacco. The tannins here are velvety and smooth, combining with a dart of acidity to give a well-judged sense of balance.

Description
Chateau Plince is known and recognized today by amateurs and professionals as the wine from Pomerol of great quality. In 1995, it took the bronze medal at the agricultural show of Paris, then won the gold medal in 2000. Located at the exit east of Libourne, the property of Chateau Plince is close to Chateau Nenin and opposite Chateau La Pointe. Its total surface is more than 10 hectares, of which 8,66 hectares are planted in vine. The vineyard is of only one holding and is located on a ground of dark sand largely provided in ”iron” which contributes to the richness of the wine. Merlot and Cabernet Franc blend, with the characteristic ripe roundness really shining in this excellent vintage. Already beginning to open up at a relatively young age, with seductive raspberry, kirsch and black pepper notes on the nose. The palate has a lovely rich texture.Details
