Macán Clásico is single-varietal 100 % Tempranillo. 50 % new oak barrels were used for ageing, giving greater weight to the fresher profiles, and 10 % American oak barrels to work on smoothness. The nose is complex, showing mixes fruity notes (blackberries, morello cherries, black cherries), vanilla and spices (oriental spices) with delicious coffee, chocolate, toast and oak scents. On the palate is structured and aromatic, and it unveils firm tannins underlined by subtle graphite and nutmeg notes at the finish. This wine is suitable for drinking now, but it can be stored for 10-15 years in optimal conditions: 12-14 °C / 54-57 ºF and 60 % relative humidity. Both firms share the idea of making great wines in La Rioja. After 5 years of terroir evaluation and acquisition of 92 ha of vineyard, the project takes shape in 2009 with the first vintages Macan and Macan Clasico. Tasting Notes “This wine is clean, modern and balanced, with integrated oak and the classical berry flavors with a spicy twist. The palate is medium to full-bodied, with some grainy tannin and enough elegance to counterbalance the natural power.
