Schloss Gobelsburg is an estate with history of wine making dating back to 1171, when Cistercian monks started planting vines and maintaining vineyards in this area. When Michael Moosbrugger and took over the winery in 1996, there were a wine cellar that met modern technological requirements. He is convinced that the future of high quality wine lies in individuality and character. High level of technology is necessary to warrant uniformity, but Michael Moosbrugger believes that a maximum of individuality and character can only be achieved through reducing the use of technology. Here the wines are crafted by individuals, based on experience and knowledge.
