"Beara Distillery was founded in 2017 and is situated near Castletownbere on the Beara peninsula, Co Cork, Ireland. Whiskey and vodka are produced as well as multi award winning Beara Ocean Gins. When asked, why we thought of opening a distillery here in Beara, we felt that like many of the famous distilleries in Ireland and Scotland, while Beara may be off the beaten track, our distillery does not need to be in an urban environment. In fact, it is the very environment of the remote Atlantic coastline and its landscape that gives Beara products their distinct signature and quality, coupled with the mountain spring water from the hills that are surrounded by the sea. Logistics is always more expensive when running a business in a rural setting, but we need to make this an advantage in the consistent quality of products we produce."
