2016 Chateau Le Crock, Saint-Estephe

Château Le Crock 2016 is a wine from the Saint Estephe appellation produced from a blend of four grape varieties, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot, aged in 30% new oak.

On the nose, the 2016 vintage of Château Le Crock exhibits an intense bouquet of black fruits, interspersed with woody notes.
Moderately full-bodied, the mouthfeel of the Le Crock 2016 has relatively firm, granular tannins that are directly reminiscent of the 2010 vintage.

Press Quote The 2016 Le Crock feels just a tad overripe on the nose of black cherries, kirsch and light canned prune aromas. The palate is medium-bodied with soft tannins, quite plush and forward but missing some backbone on the easygoing yet pleasant finish. Drink over the next 5–8 years. Tasted blind at the Southwold tasting. Drinking range: 2021 - 2032 Rating: 89 Neal Martin, (Aug 2020)
