Since its foundations in 1731, Bouchard Père et Fils has put together an exceptional vineyard holding along the Côte d’Or. The fact that the firm owns land in some of the most prestigious of Burgundy’s terroirs, makes it an obligation to strive for greatness. Care is taken at every step in its production. The winery consists of a team that shares the highest standards in terms of craftsmanship and creativity. This climat has rocky sub-soils that come from the great number of big flat stones called " laves " in the area. These natural stone slabs were used by the Merovingians for their tombs. One of these can be seen in the Louis XI room in the Château. Bouchard Père & Fils owns 3.94 hectares of Savigny Premier Cru sites that were acquired at the beginning of the 20th century
