Chateau Pontet Canet 1994 - Pauillac

Cab Sauv 62%, Merlot 32%, Cab Franc 4%

On 81 hectares in Pauillac, Pontet Canet can trace its origins back to 1725. Owned by the Tesseron family, they have vastly improved the quality of Pontet Canet wines which are now full-bodied and packed with ripe, chewy, black fruits and finely integrated tannins. 5th Growth

Tasting Note
One of the star performers of the 1994 vintage, what was a powerful wine in its youth, is now soft and full of tertiary character. The once purple-colored hue now gives way to a bricky red hue.

Press Quote "Outer quote mark One of the finest as well as longest-lived wines of the vintage, this opaque purple-colored 1994 needs 7-10 years of cellaring. This rich, impressive, full-bodied wine represents the finest Pontet-Canet produced since 1961. This full-bodied, purely made wine is crammed with black currant fruit, as well as forbiddingly tannic and backward". 93 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
